How to Reinforce Your Brand on Social Media

Gone are the days where branding solely consisted of making sure your logo was sized properly on your website. In the age of media and a growing digital world, businesses must ensure their branding is consistent across a multitude of platforms and mediums. A company’s print materials, social media platforms, email marketing campaigns, website pages, and more must all tell the same story.

Social media in particular can be used to reinforce your branding online. No matter the platform, businesses can support their branding by:

  • Ensuring the introduction to new visitors is on brand, including your profile photo, social media bio, and any links or buttons. First impressions are critical.

  • Nailing down your brand tone and writing style. Maintain the same tone you use on your website and in your other digital and print mediums. The idea is to create a consistent persona that followers, customer or not, recognize and can trust.

  • Create a visually recognizable brand through color stories, text styles, graphic imagery or patterns, and more. Similar to tone, your visual presence - whether through photo or video - must speak to your brand and its message.

While the above suggestions are geared toward the presentation of your business, branding on social media is much more than logos, texts, and font choices. According to SproutSocial, “A brand is how you make your customers feel, and it’s built by taking a consistent approach across every interaction they have with your brand.”

Each interaction you have with your followers can make or break the brand you’ve built. It is important to maintain your elements of your brand not just in presentation, but in conversation as well. Creating a compelling story or conversation on social media can lead to new and repeat customers.
